Hum Tum has a very interesting plot. Karan (Saif Ali Khan) is a cartoonist who is going to New York for some purpose. In the pane he meets Rhea (Rani Mukherjee). He tries to flirt with Rhea who is least interested in him. On the way to New York they they have a stopover at Amsterdam and Karan asks to Rhea to spend sometime with her and she agrees. While exploring the city both of them come to know many interesting things about each other. After this they part ways. In the course of the movie they meet each other in several intervals. The second phase of the movie shows that rhea is getting married. Karan coincidently became part of Rhea's wedding. After a couple of years Karan again meets Rhea. But Rhea is in shattered world as she is alone now. As the movie goes on Karan falls for Rhea. Karan is now a famous writer, the circumstances in the movie makes the two character fall in love with each other and eventually they marry each other. In the course of the movie to remove the stress the cartoon characters Hum Tum are featured frequently explaining the situation of the movie.
The intermingling of various events and wonderful storyline made the movie a hit. Saif Ali Khan won National Award in 2005 for his outstanding performance in Hum Tum. In 2005 the film won many Filmfare Awards. |
